The Best Carrot, Potato, Bacon Soup Recipe

If you've been following my stories on Instagram, you know that I had all four of my Wisdom Teeth taken out this past Friday.  Yes, it feels as painful as it sounds and even on Day 4 of recovery - I look like a member of Alvin and the Chipmunks. It's honestly the worst pain I've ever experienced - yep, worse than childbirth. I'm still not able to eat solid foods so I've basically been living off of smoothies and this DELICIOUS soup that my sweet hubby made for me. I couldn't resist sharing this soup with y'all so here is the recipe for you to enjoy!

Ingredients

 6 Yellow Potatoes
4 Carrots - Peeled & Chopped
2 Celery Stalks - Chopped
6 Strips of Bacon - Chopped into small pieces
2 Pieces of Green Onion - Chopped
1 Yellow Onion -  Peeled & Chopped
1/4 Piece of Ginger - Peeled & Chopped
2 Garlic Cloves - Minced
2 Thai Basil Leaves - Chopped
2 Organic Bullion Cubes
6 Cups of Water
Olive Oil
Salt
Pepper

Put all ingredients in a large pot and drizzle with olive oil, salt & pepper.
Cook all at medium heat with the lid on until the potatoes are soft. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add 6 cups of water and bring to a boil. Add bullion cubes. Simmer with lid on for 20 minutes. Blend in a blender in batches.
Serve and Enjoy.

Happy Thursday!
I posted this outfit on my Instagram account the other day and had SO many questions about it!
They were both Winners finds - which means it may be hit or miss when you go into the actual store, so I put together similar items at affordable price points!
Nothing I've listed is over $50.

Happy Shopping!

DIY Halloween Spider Wreath - Under $10

Happy Wednesday!

I'm not usually one to decorate for Halloween as I much prefer Fall decor.
This year, I made a promise to my Hallowen loving husband that I would decorate for Halloween as soon as Thanksgiving Weekend was over.
Which it now is.
(Canadian Thanksgiving for all of you confused)

I had so much fun making my super easy Fall wreath HERE
that I thought I would attempt a Halloween wreath.

All the materials are from the dollar store, making this another budget friendly DIY.
I didn't end up using the eyeballs, so this DIY only needed 3 items to complete!

I started by placing the big spider on the wreath as it was the focal point then added the other objects around it.
The little spiders came inside the black flowers I found from Dollar Tree.
The giant spider and wreath are both from Dollarama.

In total this DIY cost a total of $6.

Materials Needed:

Wreath $3
(I got mine at Dollarama but I've linked similar ones from Dollarama that you can find for only $1)
Giant Spider $1
Glue Gun

To make all you have to do is hot glue the items to the wreath and voila a Halloween Wreath!

Easy Gluten Free Chicken Noodle Soup

The cooler weather has finally arrived and my Fall loving soul is so so happy!
It's finally time for all things cozy, including cozy food like SOUP.
While my daughters aren't huge soup lovers, my son would eat chicken noodle soup for breakfast lunch and dinner if we let him.
Since he now eats a gluten free diet, we tried this recipe using gluten free pasta and it was just as delicious as ever!

Ingredients
3 Large Carrots - peeled and chopped
3 Stalks of Celery - chopped
1 small yellow onion - chopped
2 garlic cloves - chopped into small pieces
1 tsp turmeric
1 tbs Italian seasoning
Sea salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
Olive oil
2 Boullion Cubes
1 Cup gluten free pasta of choice (we used penne)
8 cups of water

In a large pot heat olive oil and add onion, garlic, celery & carrots. Add all herbs. Cook until onions are translucent and garlic is fragrant. About 5 minutes. Add water & bullion cubes to pot. Bring to a boil and add gluten free pasta. Let boil about 7-8 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
 Enjoy!
